A course for K–12 teachers
Get started now!
Arts integration is an approach to teaching in which an arts standard and a standard from another content area, such as English Language Arts, Math, Science, or Social Studies, are taught together. Both standards inform the objectives of the lesson, and the result is a better understanding of both subjects. In this course, we guide you through the process of developing your own arts-integrated lesson through videos and interactive activities.
Katy Unger is a multimedia artist who has worked with a wide range of individuals, K-12 schools, and community-based organizations to develop projects and curriculum that support experimentation, inquiry, and self-expression through the arts. She received her BFA from the Pacific NW College of Art and her paintings and video-based works have been featured internationally and throughout the US. In her current role as an Art Education Specialist, she provides arts integrated lessons, professional development, and digital media content for LACMA’s education programs and online platforms.
